I had to uninstall SMART GESTURE from the control panel, reboot, install an older version (I think version 2.2.5) and then reboot again, and it works! This version doesn't work with my ASUS N550JV. Everything was fine, until Windows 10 updated Smart Gesture to version 4.05. (Update: It seams as though you also need to disable auto updates from asus live update otherwise it will update your smart gesture version within a day or so.) Hopefully asus will release a fix for their new "fix" I just finished reinstalling and smart gesture is good to go!

what worked for me (at least for now) is to uninstall the upgraded version, and download the official windows 8.1 version: I tried reinstalling the "official" windows 10 release to no avail.
